[ mismatched seating ]

IT'S THANKSGIVING week for my US friends and many will be gathering family around the table to enjoy a wonderful turkey dinner. Whenever our family gets together on these holidays, we scramble to find enough chairs so that we can all squeeze together around the table. Whenever I see dining rooms with a mix of chair styles, it makes me think of those happy holidays. I find the look so charming, whether planned as part of the look of the room or just a temporary solution to a big gathering.

  3. Oh, I am so totally into mismatched chairs. As much as I love uniformity, I despise it. :)

  5. First I was going to say I love everything about that 2nd room and then I got to the 3rd room and drooled over the artwork and now I have fainted from seeing that amazing cabinet in the 4th room. I want it, I really really do.

  6. This makes me so happy, we unfortunately have mismatched chairs (3 of each), sometimes I hate them, but sometimes (like now), I think they look sort of boho chic! XX!

  8. I love the mismatched look!

My chairs all end up matching because we have to rent a table/chairs from the party store to fit everyone...but I purposely mismatch my wine glasses at each place setting. No need for wine glass markers! And the bonus...if you break one...no worries, none of them matched anyways! ;-)

  9. You are so right, there is something about mismatched chairs that connotes gathering and good times. It's sort of like communal tables at some restaurants... it's down home & friendly!!!
    Beautiful images Lisa!!

  13. I really like the look of mismatched seating, it really gives a comfortable look. And I don't like it when there are too many repeated pieces in a room!
