[ trimming the tree ]

WITH ALL THE snow we got on Friday, it really got me into the Christmas spirit! Time to put up the tree!

A couple of years ago we bought a big 9' pre-lit tree which saves a lot of time when you don't have to untangle strings of lights. The downside is that it's so heavy we can barely lift it and we've never managed to get it to fit back into its box so it's stored in various chunks in the basement. So it's always a bit of a wrestling match to get it up the stairs with the bins of decorations. whew!

Putting up the tree is by far my favourite part of the holiday prep. For years I've been picking up an ornament anytime we travel, as well as finding a couple of really special ones each year. Unwrapping each one brings back so many lovely memories.

And speaking of all that snow, in addition to the foot we got on Friday, we woke up to another 6-8 inches! No wonder I was thinking Christmas! More decorating to come...

  6. Your tree is beautiful! Huge too...I do a little one, because I'd have nowhere to store it in the off season. I'm just starting to get my boxes of decorations out. I'm looking forward to setting it all up.

You really did get a lot of snow!!

  7. Your tree is gorgeous ♥

We got a 6.5' pre-lit tree this year... I do love not having to hang lights. We have had snow everyday for a week... and we'll be getting more snow everyday for at least the next 2 weeks. I'm not wild about snow.

  12. Lisa, your tree is
    MAGIC!!
    We have a similar
    sized pre-lit and
    this is how we store
    it: standing up in
    the garage with a
    cover that protects
    it from head to toe.
    (The very top of the
    tree stores inside,
    so it isn't 9ft tall
    in the storeage bag.)
    Makes bringing it in
    and setting it up so
    much easier. That, in
fact, is as far as we
    have gotten, but I'm
    hoping to add more this
    week.
    Happy Monday!
    xx Suzanne

  17. Your tree is just gorgeous! Last year, my dad gave us a hand-me-down pre-lit tree. Well, the thing weighs about 100 pounds, and then when we put it up the lights didn't work! So Mr. Deer cut off every, single, tiny twinkling light so we could put new lights up! Christmas = chaos, lol! XX!

Vale a pena..
