[ pretty patchwork ]

IT SEEMS THAT patchwork-covered sofas have been popping up a lot lately. I'm even seeing a few here in dubai. They do inject a lot of pattern into a space and give it a homespun feel. How do you feel about patchwork sofas - would you upholster your sofa in patchwork?

  1. I like this look. It is an updated version of a classic. I think the key is having it be the focal point of the room as in the pictures you have shown.

  2. I'm on the fence when it comes to patchwork. However, seeing them in this way makes me appreciate.

  5. I was going to say no because my house is very modern but after looking at these images I'm not so sure. I would maybe start with a chair, but not that rocking chair, don't care for that one. I like the 2nd one very much.

  6. Lisa,
We are really on the same wavelength today! I was planning a post on patchwork too. This blogging thing is tough sometimes.
I love the pictures you chose. I especially love the one from Casual Living...I love that book.

  10. Not sure about this one haha- I think it has to suit your style... I want to say it's almost eclectic which works for some and not for others. Hope your trip is fabulous!

  11. I love how this looks, and I've been seeing them on photo shoots too. I don't know if I'd go for an entire sofa, but I'd try something smaller, like a cute chair. I love these pics!
    How's Dubai?? I'm sure it's amazing.

  13. Love the patchwork....I was at a flea market the other day and turned the corner to walk smack dab into a patchwork wing chair. "Yum" I said to myself......

  15. Nooooo...I love the look but I think I'd get bored after a year or two. I guess I could have it recovered then but I'll stick to admiring the pictures you've put up!!!

  16. I think I would like the patchwork on perhaps a smaller piece but for me a sofa would be too much homespun.

  17. I would LOVE a patchwork couch in my spare room where I sew and work and get inspired. Something about them makes me want a cup of tea and not a care in the world!

  18. I could totally see this working at a wonderful Muskoka cottage or a Whistler chalet but not in my house. You definitely picked some awesome and inspiring images though. Carol
