[ a piece of history ]

ROME IS by far the most amazing city I've ever visited - the incredible history is almost difficult to wrap your brain around. The beautiful details are everywhere you look. Today's post is all about some of the historic places you really must visit while you're there. I literally took hundreds of photos so scaling down to one blog post was a challenge! Enjoy...

It truly is an amazing city...filled to the brim with history. You captured some fantastic shots. I loved the Spanish Steps area when we were there. We visited the John Keats museum at the base of the steps...it was so interesting.

You make me want to hop on a plane and go back!

Great pictures! Nice and sneaky in the sistine chapel :) We were in Rome spring of last year and took so many pictures as well. There is so much to see that you really can't stop yourself from snapping everything!

Thanks for all the great comments! I know, snapping photos in the Sistine Chapel is a no no and my guy was shocked that I did - I think he had visions of me being dragged off to Italian jail! :)

I have been to Italy , but unfortunately it was in the south which was also awesome. Some day I would love to go to Rome. My Sister-in-laws family are from Rome and still live there.

Great images, I visited Rome on a school trip but didn't really take it all in at the time.

I am totally jealous you get to be there! I have been to Rome a few times and never seem to have enough time to see all the beauty! The Sistine Chapel was one of my faves!

Brings back such
wonderful memories!
I visited Rome for
the first time nearly
three years ago....
It was everything
I'd hoped for and
MORE. My daughter
will be going with
her Latin class this
summer, but sadly,
they don't take parent
chaperones!!! Hope
you are having a
fabulous time, sweet
Lisa!
