[ beachy keen ]

IT'S NO secret that retiring to a beach house someday is always on my mind. What makes the idea so appealing is that beach houses are simple and laid-back, typically not very big, are usually filled with painted furniture and panelled walls, and are all about the view. Like this one...

But until then, we can always plan our summer holidays. Maybe rent a beach cottage again somewhere this year.

What about you? Could you imagine a beach house life someday?

What a lovely property :) Afraid no beach homes like that in Ireland and I wouldnt move away so I'd still to a traditional thatch cottage along the sea in Ireland- pity our weather is so cold! :(

I think a beach house life would be very pleasant - I say this as three fresh inches of snow have come down today. I love the seasons, but it would be interesting to know what it is like to have lovely weather year round. I have no idea how that would be. Happy weekend!

Uh... yes! Not only can I imagine it someday. I can imagine it right this second, as it's sleeting outside!! I hope a beach cottage is within reach someday.... :)

I would love it but it would be a tough sell to my hubby he has his sights on a home in the mountains of Utah...hiking in the summer...skiing in the winter....maybe some day for a summer. Have a great weekend!

Lisa, I have the same
fantasy. I pin like crazy
to my Pinterest board
called "someday." I think
the appeal {besides the
calming factor of living
on water ~ be it ocean,
lake or river} is that you
would only own stuff that
was practical as well as
beautiful. As I get older,
that kind of living is where
I want to be : )

Let's hope we both make
this dream come true!

Happy Saturday,
xo Suzanne

It's all very tempting Lisa. I would have to throw everything out and start again (that would be nice). I quite like the idea of a boathouse too, but not a moving one as I am not a sailor.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, love Linda x

I dream of a beach house too...lakeside. The interior of BC would be perfect for me. Actually, maybe one in Tahiti as well! I love the one you've shared with us. Gorgeous.

Yes, I could imagine it! :) It must be amazing to wake up to the sound of the ocean and the palm trees in the wind. One day...
