Just driving towards Sawyer Island to the little cottage got my heart beating...
...and I certainly spent a lot of time right here...
The decor was a perfect mix of vintage pieces reupholstered or painted to give them new life and pretty antique accessories ~ I felt like I was at my grandmother's house...
But the most amazing part? This was an 1870's cottage that had been completely redone! And there's nothing I love more than a old place brought back to life while infusing it with even more charming details!
...and look at all of these bits they found inside the walls...
It was truly a little slice of heaven and I couldn't have imagined a better spot to completely unwind. We kayaked, watched the lobster fishermen check their traps and read our iPads on the porch and on the built-in beds upstairs. Even foggy days were fun as we watched it roll in and listened to the fog horn.
If you're looking for a great east coast rental, this one's pretty hard to beat!
Stay tuned for a glimpse of the Booth Bay Harbor area!

What a perfect place to unwind! The floors are gorgeous, and I am in love with the decor.
The shadow box containing all of the little things they found when renovating the house is such a cool idea!!

What a wonderful cottage full of charm! I love that huge map on the wall! I hope to visit Maine someday. It looks so beautiful! Plus I want to try a lobster roll. :)
How charming! It looks like the perfect place to unwind. I love how they framed the little treasures they found in the wall - too cool!
Heaven!!
Would love to do that one day!!!
Lisa!
Welcome back!
I love it when you travel! Then... "I get to go!" Old Montreal and Portsmouth were filled with charm. The Little Dipper Cottage is a dream come true!
It reminds me of your home in Muskoka. I love the museum drawer and the architecture of that bedroom!

Wow it's gorgeous! Your pictures are amazing! Certainly putting this place on the list!
when I hear the word "cottage" this is what I imagine. I just didn't think they existed ;) So beautiful! I love the church like window and all those little bits they found then framed.
Oh look at those pretty windows, how beautiful are they!! It looks like a large enough cottage, what a pretty location too... thanks for sharing
All things nice...
Oh I crave this and can't wait until I get a chance to go to this lovely place. No joke, it's a place that I dream about going to. I will be smiling ear to ear when driving up that little street by the water. Just lovely.
Lisa, that cottage looks amazing...thanks for the tour...will definitely put that high up on our list whilst we are living in the UK. We are currently in Orlando...watching a hurricane track by towards New Orleans (again)...it's been fun but am dying to see that New England area. Robx
