SO I came across an interesting new take-out coffee stand yesterday...

Seems pretty normal, right? Except, it's all made with this...

Camel milk! Apparently camel milk contains 10 times more iron than regular milk and 3 times more vitamin C. Hmm...

But that's not all... fancy a bite with that camel milk latte? How about one of these...

Hmm... would you be up for trying a bit of camel?

EVER wonder what to do with the wall behind your tv? Well, that's what I've been pondering lately. We have a very low tv unit that we bought to put in front of the window at the apartment which was perfect then ~ now, not so perfect against a blank white wall.

Here are a few interesting solutions for that expanse of blank wall...

I do love the gallery wall idea but since I have plans to do a gallery wall above my sofa this time, I didn't want to overdo it {and I wanted to try to use something we already had}. Being in a rental, we're fairly limited with what we can do {no painting, no holes, etc}. So I decided to just keep things simple...

I think it's a great place to hang my oar and it ties in just enough with my grouping of buoys. The gallery wall above the sofa will be fairly busy so this will keep things from looking too cluttered. Have you had to find a solution for your tv wall?

[ ahhh...summer! ]

IT'S THAT heavenly day ~ the start of summer ~ when our thoughts become daydreams of sunshine, popsicles, flip flops and the smell of tanning lotion...

Even though summer in Dubai doesn't mean spending time outdoors due to the heat, I'm still just as excited because it means our summer holiday to Canada is coming up ~ seeing family and friends and this year, renting a cottage in our ole stompin' grounds: Muskoka! I can barely sleep I'm getting so excited! Only 3 more weeks!

So what are you daydreaming about for summer?

OK, I know I should be busy whipping our place into shape, but I'm distracted today by an email I received from Colette Patterns...

the launch of their new Hawthorn dress pattern! A lovely shirtdress pattern with a pretty, feminine neckline and swingy skirt ~ a shape truly flattering for everyone. It comes in a sleeveless version perfect for summer, a 3/4 sleeve version that can work all year round, and a cute blouse pattern...

I love shirt dresses but sometimes find them to be a bit boxy. This might actually be the perfect dress pattern!

SO THINGS are coming along ~ I've got most boxes unloaded, still a few piles of things to find a spot for {don't you hate how every place has different storage spots and somehow what you have just doesn't easily find a home?}.

Anyway, this weekend I'm hoping to get my guy to install some curtain rods {hopefully our neighbours haven't had too much of a show so far!} and maybe planning where to hang my art. I do enjoy starting again with a clean slate and mixing things up a bit from the apartment. I'm glad it's down to the fun part of moving now ~ the decorating.

THERE'S nothing like a cold treat in the summer to cool you down from the heat. While I was unpacking, I thought I heard some kind of jingle playing outside. I popped my head out my front door and saw this parked right in front of my place...

an ice cream truck! I had no idea they even existed here in Dubai! How could I not run outside and join a few of my neighbours taking a break from their sticky activities?...

I'll try a nogger sandwich Mr. Ice Cream Man!

Hmm... interesting... like an ice cream sandwich, except a vanilla cookie instead and filled with both chocolate and caramel ice cream. Not a bad little treat. :) Ok, back to work!

TODAY is a very special day...

it's our anniversary ~ the day I married my true soul mate. I couldn't imagine spending my life with anyone but my guy. And every year just gets better and better. I'm a very lucky gal. xo

[ we're in! ]

I'M happy to say that we are moved in! 9 guys showed up to pack and wrap our furniture on Saturday and had us all moved and furniture reassembled by 4pm!

Although they would have unpacked everything as well, I decided to let them do a few things and leave me with the rest to sort out on my own {sometimes it's just easier to figure out where things are going}. I'm buried under lots of cardboard but hopefully I'll be coming up for air soon!
