[ burj al arab ~ a tour ]

WHEN YOU THINK of Dubai, one of the images that comes to mind is of the sail-shaped 7 star luxury hotel that juts out into the Arabian Gulf. Burj Al Arab is an all-suite hotel that dominates Dubai's skyline and has consistently been voted the world's most luxurious hotel. With personal butlers, a Rolls-Royce fleet and helicopter transfer, it is the ultimate in pampering for the rich and famous.

I was so excited to attend a breakfast event there yesterday so I could get a look around {since an overnight stay isn't exactly in my budget!}

I managed to snap a few pics of the areas I saw so here is a peek...

I would have loved to see the rooms, the restaurants and the spa but it was fun just to get a taste of what this incredible hotel has to offer.

What a spectacular space, it would be very interesting to see a room. Last night Max was reading a geography book to me that talked about Dubai, it was fun to learn a bit more and think about the couple of bloggers in know there. That latte looked pretty fab.

Woah! That is totally over the top, but not in a Carnival Cruise kind of way. In a super luxe kind of way.

We built a home for clients that were based in Dubai a few years back. They loved living there, minus the heat, but did say that the level of opulence is just insane and that hotel is one prime example. Thanks for sharing the images of your hob nob ;)

Hi Lisa
I am a recent follower of your lovely blog and I am also based in Dubai. I work here as an Interior Decorator and Decorative Painter and have lived here for almost 12 years now....your photos of the Burj are wonderful and really capture the excessive glamour it is famous for!
I look forward to reading all your other posts....

I've lived in Dubai for 12 years and I walk my dogs by the beach every morning and have a great view of the Burj. The light was particularly lovely this morning - too bad I didn't have my camera. I haven't been inside it for many years but when I did, I was overwhelmed by the contrast of its sleek exterior and multi-hued with gold and fish tanks interior. I was lucky enough to see the rooms including the presential suite (which Nelson Mandela had recently vacated). Awesome doesn't do it justice! Nice to see another Dubai-based blogger.
