[ beach industrial ]

THERE ARE so many things I love about this California waterfront home. Along with the gorgeous white cathedral ceiling and panelled walls, I'm in love with all the reclaimed bits and pieces throughout.

A coffee table is made from an old piece of marble fitted into a frame made of old nautical chain.

One of a pair, this 30" pendant is made from a gigantic buoy cut in half.

Love the old picture window repurposed to create a frame for a gallery of flea market nautical paintings.

How cool is this mantel made with all sorts of pieces of moldings and frames? Love the weathered signs.

This pair of pendants from the Urban Electric Co. fit right into the industrial theme. Love the use of vintage French linen simply draped from rings on the window and the quote painted on the wall.

This kitchen is so charming with its industrial stools and vintage fridge and stove. The ceiling lights are a fun change from recessed halogens. Love the chalkboard on the island.

These coffee tables are so cool ~ old industrial baskets turned upside down.

The galvanized metal chairs continue the industrial feel outdoors with more vintage French linen for a tablecloth.

Love this pass-through with it's counter that continues from the kitchen. The paned windows are both functional and charming. Tolix stools line the counter. Of course what beach house would be complete without cedar shakes.

Isn't it a great place? I'm just loving the mix of industrial with curvy furniture and all the white. I'm always so inspired by cozy spaces like these. This one makes me want to go out rummaging for old stuff ~ one of my absolute favourite things to do.

It's all the quirky accents that give a home personality. How's the weather? It is hot as heck here. A friend has her mom visiting from the States and they are heading to Dubai tomorrow. When do you take off for your trip? We got back from Sri Lanka last Monday. Sure was nice to be out and about in nature and to see rain again. Have a great week. Tammy

Oh yes, it's fabulous. I love a sophisticated industrial look. That mantle reminds me of a framed mirror in a local restaurant, I've been wanting to copy it for years. Especially love all the light fixtures (and that pass through).

Oh Lisa,
I love this place too!
I want to do pass-through winddows with doors from our Kitchen to our dining and living rooms (in lieu of takining down the wall).
We were at a wedding last weekend where there were pass throughs from the kitchen to the large dining area. When the rustic detailed wooden doors were closed...they looked like art on the walls. Sooooo Cool!
You find the best to inspire me!
Have a great week!

Love the beautiful pics. A beach house perfectly and so uniquely done. Stands out above so many others that all look the same. Just gorgeous.

I can tell that you
are dreaming BIG
about Maine!! We
are going to get a
few days on the
Washington Coast
in August and I can't
wait. There is just
something about the
sea that is so restorative.

Until then, happy
dreaming!!

I love this house! The baskets turned upside-down and used as coffee tables are my favorite. So simple yet brilliant too! I wish I could walk around in the house so I could look at everything in person. That mantel is really something!

I think this home just moved to the top of my favourite list! It is absolutely stunning! There are just too many amazing details to list them all but I feel very inspired after seeing them. I had come across the very last picture on Pinterest (which I pinned of course) so I am so happy that I got to see the rest of the house!

Ooh Lisa...I LOVED this home too..I picked up the latest issue of HB at Borders last week and I have spent the whole week drooling over each and every page of this wonderful house!Great post!
Enjoy your trip back to Canada...I wish I could get out too but I have work commitments until the middle of August so I am stuck in Dubai with the heat until then!
Have you had any luck with finding a new apartment?
