[ my tv wall ]

EVER wonder what to do with the wall behind your tv? Well, that's what I've been pondering lately. We have a very low tv unit that we bought to put in front of the window at the apartment which was perfect then ~ now, not so perfect against a blank white wall.

Here are a few interesting solutions for that expanse of blank wall...

I do love the gallery wall idea but since I have plans to do a gallery wall above my sofa this time, I didn't want to overdo it {and I wanted to try to use something we already had}. Being in a rental, we're fairly limited with what we can do {no painting, no holes, etc}. So I decided to just keep things simple...

I think it's a great place to hang my oar and it ties in just enough with my grouping of buoys. The gallery wall above the sofa will be fairly busy so this will keep things from looking too cluttered. Have you had to find a solution for your tv wall?

I absolutely love that first image! The yellow is beyond perfect. Our tv is on display, but to be honest, I wish we could hide it.

Your arrangement looks great! I have yet to do anything near my tv cabinet - I am now inspired by your photo's - what about a giant black and white photo canvas behind - kinda like that giant painting! That could be fun.

My favourite is absolutely the big painting! I have never thought before that painting could be installed such a place. Love how the painting goes also behind the cabinet.

Lovely solution!! I love some of these ideas. We have our tv in our bedroom on our dresser and I'm always afraid to put things on the wall for fear of clutting, but some of these look just great!!

Great job...I like how you incorporated the tv into the wall without being too busy! I need to be more like this!

I love your solution, Lisa!! That oar is awesome! Our TV is almost as big as the wall (remember, I live with men!) so I didn't have room to do anything else. However, I helped my brother do a gallery wall around his TV. He travels a lot and takes tons of pics, so it was a good way to display them and distract from the big black box :)

I was on vacation last month, so I'm just catching up. Glad to see you're in your new place.

I love the oar, Lisa. It makes me think of your place in Muskoka.

We have our television on an easel.
I originally saw one for mega dollars at Restoration Hardware. Then... Mr. D and I stumbled upon one at sale in a very nice furniture store. We bought it on the spot! It fits perfectly in the corner by the fireplace. We love it!

I am glad to see that you and Your Guy are getting settled in your new home. You two have had quite a year!
