[ bookcase before & afters ]

THOSE OF YOU following my blog have probably figured out by now that I have a thing for organizing. And I think it's just become more of an obsession since being in this temporary apartment. In Ireland, not only do you rent an apartment, it comes furnished as well so you are also having to consider whether or not you would actually sit on that couch! What you get is what you get and what we didn't get were any bookcases to store things. I guess that's why when I came across these bookcase ideas at Better Homes and Gardens, it immediately got me thinking as to how I would transform this naked bookcase. What would you do to give it some life?

ps: Thank you so much to all of you who have been leaving comments! The funny thing is that none of them were showing up until I discovered this morning that 'comment moderation' was clicked on and I had 45 comments waiting to be moderated before they would show up! And here I was thinking that no one was commenting! What a joy to read all the lovely comments this morning! Thanks again and please keep the comments coming! : )

I would probably just leave it the natural wood and make some inserts to go on the shelves in the back (so it looks like the things on the shelves are sitting in front of a painting)...

but then, that's what I did to the bookshelves that I own.
: )

Oooooh - LOVE that first one! It's like a mix of barn door/picket fence. So cute :)

I love, love, love #3. Brown is my color and it would fit perfect with my green walls. But either way...they are all winners :)
