This is such a cute vignette - I love the artwork, the tiny bunting/pennant string, the patchwork throw, coordinating pillows and the handmade doll. So homey. I think my grandmother's sofa was covered in that same fabric!
How cute are these granny square stool covers? I remember learning how to crochet granny squares when I was little - I wonder if I still know how...
This pretty paper bunting would be so easy to make by painting pages from an old book and accordian-folding tissue paper strips into flowers. Just fold strips, tie up one end tightly with string, puff them out and tie to a ribbon or string. So pretty for a party.
Personalized square bunting is cute strung up on the mirror and a little pink rosette adorns a plain white pillow. I also love how the vintage poster is so simply displayed.

Love the little doll and grandma crochet doilies..brings back memories!
Your vignettes are sweet indeed. I still have the afghans my grandma crocheted for me from granny squares.

Those stools are brilliant! I love a touch of handmade! xx
I love homey touches like this! Our kitchen is pretty modern, but I have an antique rocking chair with a quilt in it, and it really adds a nice, warm touch!
I am all about the bunting and little flag hangings... super cute!
I love granny squares and think that is a wonderful way to use all those old treasures.
I just discovered those granny square covered stools by wood & wool stool on flickr --- I was immediately drawn to them.
I'm loving the bunting - seriously has me thinking about making it.
I adore that patchwork throw...thinking maybe that is a project I could do with fabric my mom sent to me. :)

Lisa, you truly have an eye for what is beautiful....just like your blog name hints at! Banners do make a party seem more festive, yet I wouldn't have thought of making one. We have one we pull out for birthdays, but homemade is always better! Thank you for the lovely comments about my daughter's upcoming experience at art college. We are very happy to support her love of art and glad she has such focus! xx Suzanne
iv been obsessing over the stools for about a year- you reminded me I need to post soon

Agreed! I love splashes of handmade crafts among more contemporary items. Great post! ps- those stools may have inspired me to start crocheting again : )
