[ my unusual hunt for TOMS ]

IT'S NO secret - I love TOMS. They are by far the most comfortable shoes I own. And so you can imagine my disappointment when I found out that no one in Dubai carries TOMS and I can't even get them shipped here from their website!

But I wasn't going to give up.

Before we left on our cruise, I knew that we'd be stopping in a few places, so I searched online for TOMS retailers and came upon one in Barcelona.

Perfect! We'd be starting and ending our trip from Barcelona so I'd pick them up there! I jotted down the address and Google mapped it.

On our first day in Barcelona, we decided to search for the TOMS retailer who would hook me up...

Hmm.... maybe I got the address wrong...

This was turning into the most unusual search...

And there it was in this tiny alley, surrounded by no other shops of any kind... Little PACO.

It was the tiniest store I've ever seen and totally devoted to TOMS...

Despite its size, I was able to find a few pairs and my guy picked up some too. This should keep me going until the next time I'm near a TOMS retailer.

I love that for every pair you buy, they give a pair of shoes to a child in need. And that means 5 pairs of shoes are on their way.

Do you love TOMS as much as I do?

HI Lisa! Thank you for popping by my blog! That Kathy West is pretty fantastic I'm glad I found her! She has a great blog!

Thank you for following me that just made my day! Thank you for your wonderful comment I really smiled! Finland is beautiful, much like your Canada or my Michigan... more the Upper Peninsula than the lower (I'm from the lower half). Wow your Father has been gone a long time! Did you grow up with Fin phrases? I make a terrible mess of the language!

I L-O-V-E your blog! OMGOOOOODNESSS!!!! We need to be friends like right this instant! I just loved Spain... I had no idea how inspired and in love I would be with her. I felt so alive in Barcelona! Your pictures took me back in an instant. Your travels through the alleys cracked me up you just never know what your going to find or where they will take you.
Have a great day! Tracie

Love my TOMS and so does my daughter. They are hard to find here in WNY but fortunately we can get them mailed. My daughter just got the tan burlap ones so cute! You are a girl after my own heart ....it's all about the shoes! Have a wonderful Tuesday!

My daughter loves them, but I have never tried them. I don;t know much about the company...I do hope they do what they claim. I wonder what type of shoes they give away.

There are so many knock offs here this fall...everywhere.

It's all good with a pair of Tom's! They are the perfect shoe for the Dubai climate. I love how you literally tracked them down in Barcelona!

That was quite the wild goose chase. Too funny! But I'm glad it ended well! I just saw Tom's for the first time on someone else's blog and thought that they looked really cute. But now that I know they are comfy and that they are helping others I really, really want a pair! Hopefully I won't have to go down a dark alley to get them....lol

I DO love TOMS! In fact, I'm wearing a pair right now and just ordered another last week! I agree with you, they are amazingly comfortable. Your journey to find them abroad looks pretty fun!

I love this post - it's so flipping cute and happy! I adore Toms. I so agree with you that they are comfy. I wear them all the time. Rainy season is coming up, so they'll be packed away for a bit...

Never tried a pair, but I am a total comfort shoe girl so I will have to check them out! I saw some heels that looked mighty cute in your post. Are they as comfy as the flats??

What a fun story! I have a pair of Tom's wedges, but think I'd like the flats too!

Just found your blog. That is a great story and the way I like to travel. As a Tom's expert, I need some advice. The saleswoman told me that you need to go down one-half size because they stretch, but then the shoes are uncomfortably tight while my regular size fits fine. I didn't buy them because I didn't know what to do. What do you think?
