I would have loved an in-drawer spice organizer but I didn't have a spare drawer to devote to it. I also couldn't install a spice rack on the back-splash. hmmm...
While browsing around IKEA {what would I do without that place?}, I came across their Grundtal magnetic spice jars that are designed to adhere to metal rods that you screw into the wall or back-splash.
But, being magnetic, I realized that these would simply stick to the side of the fridge - no need to buy the rods! {I've had a stainless steel fridge for years so I had forgotten about magnets!}
And sure, I could have spent some time creating some fancy labels but instead I went the cheap and cheerful route...
masking tape and a marker!
Nothing fancy but I kind of like the simple look of it. I can add more as I need them and it's easy to see how much of each spice I have on hand. Do you love these as much as I do?

I love this idea! Thanks for sharing :)
Looks very cool! But I am afraid they won't stuck to the fridge as well as to the rode. Do they?
looks great!
Awesome space saver.....
Mine is above the stove and I have to get on a chair and hunt through everything to find the one I need. I like your masking tape .....it's perfect!
Smaller spaces call for creativity you nailed it!
Have a wonderful day!
Form and function combined.
Nicely done. If I had perfect handwriting like you, I'd do the same thing. Seriously impressive.
Lisa...I was looking at those at Ikea a couple weeks ago! What you did can work perfect for my kitchen world as well! {I'm tired of the endless spinning of the Rubbermaid lazy susan in the spice cabinet.} I think it would be nice to have the spices available at one glance! Well done,

Gotta love Ikea!! And yes, those are fabulous...I too have some on the side of my fridge. It helps clear up a little cupboard space in my spice pantry. :-)
I have these, some are in use and stuck to the side of my range hood, the rest are in a cupboard somewhere and on the 'to do' list that never actually seems to get done...maybe this is the inspiration I needed! Thanks for sharing! Happy Wednesday!
That is a great idea! Can't even see my fridge because it is covered in magnets from around the world. :) Hope a lovely evening! Tammy
Hi Lisa,
Great idea, you should write Ikea and get a commission from all of us that are going out to get some and do the same!
Love your ribbon storage ideas as well..you probably find some great ribbons in Dubai!

Looks cool Lisa, when you can write like that who needs printed labels? The black line around makes them look smart.
Many thanks for your visit and comments, is Canadian thanksgiving the same date as American? I hope you will let us see your lovely pumpkin bakes? Have a great week, love Linda x
I love these things!! Just got some for my tiny kitchen too
Really like it. And too funny, because you know some people spend hours trying to replicate that look you just achieved with masking tape and a marker. Well done! Liz @ Designing Domesticity
oh my I really love this idea! and love all the different spices. I kinda of have a thing for spices...meaning I have too many!
What a brilliant idea, Lisa! I love being able to see exactly how much you have on hand and your creative labels too!
Man that is clever. I have an ongoing battle with my spices.
Love it!!!! Ikea is the best!!

Only YOU could make
a masking tape label
look this good : ) Your
spices add a perfect shot
of color, too!

That looks great! I have a relatively big kitchen, but hardly any drawer space, so spice storage is one of my biggest issues too... maybe I'll try this! I had no idea it could look so cute!
Perfect! So much better than mismatched jars. And your handwriting is fab!
Super neato idea! Love the visibility! My fridge is just about hid on all sides...so alas this wouldn't work! Have fun cooking!
I love this idea! Trying to find spices in my cabinet drives me insane.
